Latest Wi-Fi technology to let gadgets talk directly (Threats to bluetooth)
Starting in mid-2010, new versions of gadgets like cameras, cell phones and computers will be able to link each other using Wi-Fi without the need of wireless network first (same like the bluetooth in your mobile)
The Wi-Fi Alliance, an industry group, said Wednesday it is nearly finished putting together a Wi-Fi Direct specification, a set of technical "rules" that guide consumer electronics companies that plan to add the new capability.
Kelly Davis-Felner, the Wi-Fi Alliance's marketing director, said Wi-Fi Direct will make it easier to liberate the mounting gigabytes of digital family photos that are trapped in cameras, smart phones or PCs.

Google is ready to open wallet again after stellar 3Q
SAN FRANCISCO -
Google Inc.'s earnings and stock price are soaring again — and so is the Internet search leader's optimism.
The main reason: A third-quarter profit that was the largest yet in the company's 11-year history combined with revenue growth accelerating for the first time since the U.S. recession began in December 2007.
The results released Thursday are the best indication yet that the Internet ad market is emerging from its worst funk since the dot-com bubble burst at the start of the decade.

Get Updates for all your Firefox Plug-ins
*Its is about updating Firefox plug-ins, not extensions.
If you select Tools -> Add-ons from the Firefox menu bar, you can see a list of all extensions, themes and plug-ins that are currently installed in your copy of Firefox.
The same add-ons dialog has a “Find Updates” feature to help you figure out if you are running any out-dated extensions but that doesn’t work with your plug-ins. How can you then find out that you are running the latest versions of all plug-in
